Company Shop Opens New Store in Bradford

Company Shop, the UK’s leading food redistribution supermarket that offers surplus products from well-known brands at discounted prices, has opened its 11th store in Bradford.
The store, which prevents good food and household products from going to waste, offers members access to high-quality, low-cost food and products, including those from big-name brands such as Marks and Spencer, Nestle, Tesco and Coco Cola, which are on average around 53% off the normal retail price.
Membership to the store is free and open to those working in the NHS, social care and emergency services, prison services, British armed forces, and the fast-moving consumer goods supply chain, as well as temporarily for those working within schools and the local council. As the coronavirus pandemic continues, Company Shop Bradford has now also extended its membership to all those receiving welfare support, ensuring the community is offered as much support as possible during this time. All that eligible individuals and families need to do is sign up for a free membership card online.
The new, first-of-its-kind for Bradford store will serve an expected 8,000 Bradford locals, whilst creating 45 new jobs in the area – helping to stretch family budgets and support the local economy, whilst simultaneously tackling the challenge of food and product waste.
Alongside welcoming thousands of new members to the Group, in a pledge to help them “shop good, feel good and do good”, Company Shop is also encouraging local manufacturers, retailers and brands to get in touch if they are looking for sustainable surplus solutions for their products.
“We are encouraging all individuals and families who are eligible for membership to sign up online as soon as they can, so they can benefit from the great offers available straight away. We are very proud to serve a membership which is made up of many key workers, all of whom are continuing to do a brilliant job on the frontline as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. We are also pleased to be opening up our membership to those receiving welfare support, as we want to do all we can to support the community through these challenging times.
“We are really excited to be bringing Company Shop to Bradford and would also encourage any local businesses that are interested in doing something positive with their surplus to get in touch.” Steph McGinty, Deputy Managing Director for Company Shop Group
