Job Purpose
An exciting opportunity for an established Learning & Development Advisor to join the People Team at Company Shop and create a training legacy during a busy period of growth.
Reporting to the Senior L&D Business Partner the role will involve writing the training material, developing, and implementing departmental systems and robust training processes.
The L&D Team will implement and execute training sessions to support one-to-one/group refresher training, new store openings and seasonal colleagues, to ensure all colleagues are provided with support, enabling outstanding performance and harmony in the workplace.

Specific duties and responsibilities
Working with the Senior L&D Business Partner and the L&D Coordinator to:
  • Deliver a comprehensive induction to all new starters
  • Support the administration and record keeping for training events
  • Work consultatively with internal customers to ensure training and learning needs are regularly reviewed to achieve project aims and objectives
  • Design learning events to meet the training needs identified with internal customers
  • Ensure the training delivered maintains high standards of excellence in training, advice, guidance and coaching provision
  • Offer advice and guidance to Team Leaders / Managers on service knowledge, training and developmental issues
  • Provide training delivery relevant to service requirements within the project timeframes at the required standard for each event
  • Report issues effecting training provision and proactively work with the Senior L&D Business Partner to ensure the training and development continues to meet the requirements
  • Support the L&D Coordinator with:
  • Create and edit in-house training manual for multi-purpose use, hard/soft copy and web
  • Comply with all Company Shop requirements, policies and procedures
  • Management of all training bookings and administration
  • Monitoring and recording all evaluation and feedback
  • Monitoring attendance and application of learning
  • Developing and maintaining accurate training/data records
  • Analysis of training data and preparation of monthly reports on training activities and statistics for team meetings

  • Experience of classroom-based training
  • Experience of side-by-side coaching to improve quality of work
  • Understanding of best practice for training and development solutions
  • Ability to develop project content and documentation into training material and knowledge packages
  • Understanding of training and development function to achieve business goals
  • Ability to train and facilitate in a one-to-one situation
  • Understanding of people development
  • Ability to manage quick turnaround training and coaching interventions
  • Ability to coach both in classroom and live environment
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload in response to business needs
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Taking ownership and commitment to agreed objectives, projects and issues
  • Creative design/writing skills for training information and presentations
  • Research skills to identify potential new training resources
  • Keep abreast of best practice and utilise latest technology where appropriate
  • Customer focused and commercially motivated
  • Understanding of confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to build relationships with a range of people cross-divisional
  • Good level of PC skills
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, flexible, and highly committed
