Finance Manager - Job ID 288

Role Purpose
Reporting directly to the Finance Controller, you will lead in all aspects of the day to day financial activities of the Group.
This role will take an active role in the business to support stakeholders to understand the commercial and operational performance of their departmental areas, whilst highlighting opportunities for areas of improvement, and maintaining strong financial control.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve financial procedures and controls across the business to ensure that all systems and processes are efficient and support the growth of the business
  • Production of timely and accurate monthly and weekly management reporting to strict deadlines
  • Support the management Accountant in coaching and leading the accounts payable team 
  • Support with the preparation of statutory accounts and the external audit for the legal entities within the group
  • Documenting current finance processes, helping identify processing and reporting     efficiency opportunities and implementing change
  • Provide excellent financial insight into the performance of the Company
  • Take an active role in the annual budgeting process and forecasting process
  • Provide support and cover for finance tasks such as month end processing, VAT returns, plus regular and ad hoc reporting
  • Develop and monitor capex reporting including calculation/verification of any associated benefits and the payback period
  • Control and challenge departmental overhead spend to identify opportunities for savings and risks to prevent overspends
  • Deliver financial training to non-finance stakeholders within the business to ensure they are clear on their roles in the finance process
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Accountant with at least 2 years PQE
  • Strong analytical mind set and variance analysis skills
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Proven experience in successfully managing teams
  • Inquisitive and forward thinking nature - always challenging current methods and actively looking at ways to do things more efficiently
  • Resilience and ability to adapt to changing business needs
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to push themselves and others to work to fixed deadlines
  • Demonstrable experience of working with multiple stakeholders at all levels
  • A naturally collaborative style, sharing information and knowledge to help others achieve
  • A strong customer service approach
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Prophix is desired but not essential
